Jagdgeschwader 53 was formed in early 2020 by a group of players on the Storm of War DCS WW2 server. The original members consisted of Dusty, Trueno, Frislev and Tracer and just happened to fly at similar times on the same side. The team grew organically from there, adding Burrito, Paddy and Plush and is now a multinational squadron that regularly flies warbirds together on Storm of War . The Squadron generally flies Axis aircraft but regularly flies Allied aircraft types too and uses the formation callsign of Milan. In the German language Milan means 'kite', a type of bird of prey seen throughout Europe. You'll find most of the different aircraft in each the member's pilot records, including the BF109 K4, FW190 A-8 and D-9, Spitfire Mk IX, P51D and P47.
